Senior Java Backend Engineer (Spring Boot & Kafka)
Pay rate: $78 $84/hr on C2C
Location: Hybrid (Westlake, TX 3 Days In-Office / 2 Days Remote)
Duration: 12 Months
Engagement: Corp-to-Corp (C2C)
Work authorization: USC, GC, H1B, TN, GC-EAD
Client: Leading US brokerage and wealth management firm (name confidential until shortlisting - standard US staffing practice)
What you will do:
- Build resilient transactional banking APIs following domain-driven design (DDD) patterns.
- Implement Kafka topic partitions, consumer groups, and dead-letter queues (DLQ) for asynchronous messaging.
- Participate in in-person sprint planning and technical architecture whiteboarding sessions.
What you will bring:
- 8+ years of core Java development (Java 17/21) using Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Cloud.
- Deep experience with event-driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka (Producers, Consumers, Schema Registry).
- Strong relational database skills in Oracle or PostgreSQL, including query tuning and indexing.
- Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing via JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
